Porters Neck Plantation is located four miles north of Wilmington, adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. The location features a rich history and vibrant cultural scene. Attractions

Porter’s Neck Plantation is located in North Wilmington away from the busyness of the city, but a short drive down market street returns resident to the heart of it all. Wilmington is renowned for its historical scene mixed with a growing urban presence. As such, there are numerous attractions throughout the area.

The USS North Carolina, a WWII battleship, was brought to Wilmington by a fleet of tugboats in the 1960s after its decommissioning. Since then, the battleship has become a popular attraction for residents as a way to explore the rich history within the area.

The Bellamy Mansion, Cotton Exchange, and more are older landmarks that remain preserved and standing to this day.

Downtown Wilmington has the blends the old with the new as shops, boutiques, and restaurants line the aged brick roads along the Cape Fear River. Especially in the spring and summer months, downtown bustles as concerts, festivals, and events bring residents and locals alike to the Port City. The regionally popular North Carolina Azalea Festival features a host of events and special guest throughout the city with the backdrop of azaleas’ spring blooms. The Riverfest Street Festival opens the Water Street to vendors in a fun-filled weekend with live entertainment and lots of food.
